If everything goes according to plan, then we are just two months away from the launch of the next Apple flagship smartphone - the iPhone 14 series. Apart from that, rumour mills suggest that Apple is going to have a busy fall this year with other launches including Apple Watch series, Airpods, and roll out of iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and other hardware and software. However, as far as millions and millions of fans are concerned, the spotlight is on the iPhone 14 series. The exciting part is that the new iPhone is expected to feature several changes from the current iPhone 13 series. Notably, iPhone 13 was not too big an upgrade from iPhone 12, but iPhone 14 may well be a gamechanger.
From design, camera improvements, new colour variants to the A16 Bionic chipset, these are some of the exciting changes expected. Fans should note that most of these expected upgrades are expected to be for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models, while the plain vanilla iPhone 14 will, stay that way- vanilla.
Be that as it may, the latest news to get us excited has claimed that the high-end models of the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup will feature 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM. A MacRumors report claims that this will be a faster and more efficient type of memory compared to old standards. Currently, iPhone 13 series starts at 4GB LPDDR4X RAM.
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro to get BIGGER upgradesThe iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, basically the high-end versions of the forthcoming iPhone series, are expected to feature all the major upgrades. Now, this report claims that 6GB LPDDR5 RAM will bring better and more energy-efficient performance than the previous standards.
Apart from that, some earlier reports, including from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, tipped that the next flagship A16 Bionic chip will be inside the Pro models. Whereas, the non-Pro will continue with the A15 Bionic chipset packed inside the iPhone 13 Pro models- albeit, with an upgrade.
Then there is a report that says the iPhone 14 display will be entirely redesigned- a pill-shaped and punch-hole selfie camera will be featured on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. 48MP camera, better battery performance, and new display tech, all are coming to these high-end iPhone 14 smartphones.
