Maruf: I am fine. What about you?
Masud: I am fine too. Do you know the history of our Liberation War?
Maruf: Yes. After knowing the history of our Liberation War, I went to visit the National Memor
at Savar to pay homage to the martyrs.
Masud: I have also done the same thing recently. Can you imagine what a great sacrifice they h
made during the War of Liberation?
Maruf: Yes, I know that three million people sacrificed their lives during the War of Liberation.
Masud: Exactly! Besides, about three lakhs of girls and women were raped by the Pakistani Army
and their local collaborators.
Maruf: Yes, our women also contributed much and sacrificed their lives for the War of Liberation
this country.
Masud: Absolutely! However, our freedom fighters fought bravely and fearlessly until their death.
Maruf: You are right. We won the victory at the cost of a sea of blood.
Masud: Yes, it is a great cost, indeed. It can't be measured by money and dollars.
Maruf: Exactly! I agree with you.
Masud: Yes, the ballad of their contribution is written in blood.
Zarif: You are right. Their contribution is immeasurable.
Masud: They have become immoral for their noble deeds. I must be off now. Thank you very much.
Zarif: You are most welcome. Bye and see you again.

- A dialogue between two friends about a recent price hike.
Forid: Hello Sujon! How are you?
Sujon: I am fine and what about you?
Forid: I am fine too. But it seems to me that you are in deep thought. What are you thinking about?
Sujon: You are right. I am thinking about the present price hike of essential commodities.
Forid: Oh, yes. The prices of all essential commodities are increasing rapidly nowadays.
Sujon: Yes, it is affecting the common people seriously. They have become the worst sufferers.
Forid: Yes, all previous records of high prices have been broken.
Sujon: Exactly! Rice, fish, meat, chicken, kerosene oil, edible oils, and vegetables are being sold at exceedingly high prices.
Forid: Right. Besides, the price of paper, pens, and other stationery items is also going up by leaps and bounds.
Sujon: Yes, as a result, the guardians, as well as the students, are also facing great trouble.
Forid: But I cannot understand who is responsible for the high prices of things?
Sujon: I think the hoarders are largely responsible for this price hike. Besides, the shortage of food supply due to low production also accelerates the price hike.
Forid: I also think so. But how can this price hike be checked?
Sujon: The government can take strict measures to curb the hoarders' ill motive which creates an artificial crisis. The leaders of the business community can also play a vital role in this case.
Forid: You are right. Besides, all conscious people including business leaders should come forward to help the government to control the price hike. Thank you.
Sujon: Exactly! You are most welcome. Bye and see you again.
Or,
Anis : Hello Antu, how’re you?
Antu : Fine. Thanks and you?
Anis : I’m fine too. Well, nowadays the prices of daily necessities are rising very fast. What, do you think, are the effects of it on poor working-class people?
Antu : I think the poor working-class people are the main victims of unusual price-hike. They can’t buy the necessary food and clothing for this.
Anis : Yes. you’re right. The poor people cannot lead a sound life for the very high prices of daily necessities.
Antu Who’s responsible for this price hike?
Anis : I think some dishonest people who store essential commodities to make a large fortune are responsible for this price hike.
Antu : You’re quite right.
Anis : How do you think to check this problem’?
Antu : First of all, we need to identify the reasons behind price-hike. Then the Govt. and all the concerned people should take a concerted effort to eliminate the reasons.
Anis : I agree with you. Thank you very much,
Antu : You’re always welcome.

Subject : Bangabandhu satellite-1
Dear Raiyan,
You know a satellite is a machine that is set into orbit. Bangabandhu Satellite-1 is the first geostationary satellite of Bangladesh. This satellite was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space and launched on 11 May 2018. The total cost of the satellite was 248 million US dollars. Bangladesh entered a new era by launching its satellite. Bangladesh is the 57th nation in the world to own a satellite. The government has formed a new organization “Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL)” for overall management. This satellite will offer video and communications coverage over Bangladesh as well as in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Indonesia. It will also provide broadband connectivity to rural areas throughout the country. According to officials, we had to spend $14m for satellite connectivity yearly. After the BS-1 launch, it would be unnecessary. Private TV channel operators and Direct-to-Home (DTH) service providers will be the main consumers of the satellite. The weather department, as well as the defense sector, will get benefit from the satellite. This satellite will also help the telecommunication system during natural disasters.
No more today. With best wishes and love. Convey my best regards to your parents.

Dear Sir,
I on behalf of the students of class eight of your school beg to draw your attention to the fact that we are learning the English language in our classes in the communicative method. This method helps acquire four skills of language – listening speaking, reading, and writing we are very much aware of the necessity of learning English and we want to develop these skills but we have very little scope for developing the speaking skill in the classroom. For this reason, we need a separate hour as well as the environment, A language club is the best solution to this. Our English teacher Mr. Khirul is also interested to guide us in the club to develop our spoken English.
We, therefore, hope that you would kindly allow us to establish an English language club on the school premises to develop our spoken as well as other skills of English language and oblige thereby.

A School Library
A school library (or a school library media center) is a library within a school where students, staff, and often, parents of a public or private school have access to a variety of resources. The goal of the school library media center is to ensure that all members of the school community have equitable access to books and reading, information, and information technology. A school library media center uses all types of media... is automated, and utilizes the Internet [as well as books] for information gathering. School libraries are distinct from public libraries because they serve as "learner-oriented laboratories which support, extend, and individualize the school's curriculum... A school library serves as the center and coordinating agency for all material used in the school. Researchers have demonstrated that school libraries have a positive impact on student achievement through the more than 60 studies that have been conducted in 19 U.S. states and one Canadian province. The major finding of these studies was that students with access to a well-supported school library media program with a qualified school library media specialist scored higher on reading assessments regardless of their socio-economic statuses. In addition, a study conducted in Ohio revealed that 99.4% of students surveyed believed that their school librarians and school library media programs helped them succeed in school. A report that reported similar conclusions was compiled by Michele Lonsdale in Australia in 2003.
Or,
MY School Library
A library is a storehouse of knowledge. A library plays an important role in the realm of knowledge. A library is part and parcel of a school. Our school has a big library. It is housed in a separate storyed building. The library has a good collection. There are many almirahs. The books are arranged on different shelves according to subjects. The reading room and the office room of the librarian are separate. The librarian has some assistants. There is a big reading room. When we take the help of a catalog, the assistants at once find the book and help us. We are issued library cards. We can borrow books from the library. We are to return the borrowed books after two weeks. In the reading room, we can read as many books as we like. Silence is a must here. Nobody is allowed to make noise. I am proud of my school library.
A Street Accident
The accident that is generally taken place on the streets is called a street accident. It is mainly caused by vehicles moving on the street recklessly: Thousands of people die every year due to street accidents. There has been an alarming rise in street accidents in Bangladesh over the past few years. It occurs frequently in any part of our country. Every day we find the news of street accidents in the newspaper. Street accidents cause a great loss to the people. Street accidents occur primarily due to the reckless driving of the drivers. They often go almost mad to overtake without caring for traffic rules. Sometimes, unfit vehicles are taken to the street. These unfit vehicles cause street accidents. Moreover, the streets and highways of our country are not wide enough. Most of them are narrow. This is another reason for causing street accidents. Street accidents cause severe damage. People die a lot. The effect of the street accident is pathetic. Street accidents cause great loss to our economy. They not only destroy the vehicles but also damage many families. Street accidents take the lives of people mercilessly. So, preventive measures should be taken to minimize street accidents. The drivers should be trained. They should be punished for disobeying traffic rules. The old vehicles should not be allowed to ply on street. Pedestrians should be encouraged to use the footpath and over a bridge while crossing the street. People from all walks of life should come forward to tackle the problem jointly. Last, of all, the government should initiate a program to tackle it and enforce laws and order strictly to curb street accidents.
Or,
A street Accident
A street accident is a common incident in our country. Street accident takes place when drivers drive recklessly without following traffic rules or when people cross roads carelessly. Passers-by, passengers, and the drivers of the vehicles are the victims of road accidents. Reckless and unruly driving, lack of knowledge about traffic rules, and aggressive behavior of drivers are the main causes of it. The drivers violate the traffic rules whimsically or overtake the other vehicles. They compete with one another and accidents take place. Moreover, the passersby do not use foot over-bridge and underpass on busy roads; rather they try to cross in front of the moving vehicles. As a result, they are run over by those vehicles. These accidents shock me very much. To solve this problem, traffic rules should be enforced strictly. The rule-breaking drivers must be given exemplary punishment. Moreover, the government should construct more roads and also widen the existing roads and streets. People's awareness should also be raised.
Or,
A Street Accident I Witnessed
Yesterday I witnessed an accident near our school playground. The accident took place in the street in front of our school. It was afternoon and I was playing with my friends. Suddenly we heard a harsh sound. I saw that a fast-moving truck was coming towards our school gate. It reached very soon at our school gate. Unfortunately, a little boy was crossing the road at that very moment. He did not notice the truck. Again, the driver also failed to control the speed of the truck and it hit the boy. When we arrived at the spot, we found the boy covered with blood. The driver fled away. However, we immediately took the boy to the nearby hospital, but we could not save him. I felt very sad and guilty, Now I strongly want to stop road accidents. At first, we need to make people aware of traffic rules. Besides, our roads should be made wider and more roads are also needed.
Environmental pollution
The environment includes everything that is around, above, and below us. Air, water, plant, and animal life are all included in the environment. The greatest problem of the present world is the pollution of the environment, be it water, air, or sound. Environmental pollution means the introduction of harmful pollutants into the environment. These pollutants contaminate the environment. During the last 10 years, the world has witnessed a severe rise in environmental pollution. The major types of environmental pollution are air pollution, water pollution, sound pollution, and odor pollution. The environment is polluted in many ways. Air is polluted by the smoke and fumes of vehicles and industries. Water is polluted by the waste and filth of mills and factories. Vehicle horns and indiscriminate use of loudspeakers cause sound pollution. Dumping of rubbish and untreated human waste causes serious odor pollution. In this way, human beings are causing environmental pollution. Environmental pollution has a hazardous effect on the natural world and the activities of living beings. It affects all plant, human and animal life negatively. It gives rise to ecological Imbalance and brings about natural disasters in this world. It causes premature death to millions of people. Even our flora and fauna were found to be threatened with extinction. Bangladesh is now in the grip of all sorts of environmental pollution. Severe air, water, and noise pollution are threatening human health, ecosystems, and the economic growth of Bangladesh. Farmland soils are being damaged, rivers are being polluted and respiratory and other health hazards in people are making life disappointing. So, proper steps should be taken to prevent environmental pollution. We should plant more trees and work on forestation. Actions must be taken against the indiscriminate use of chemicals. Awareness must be raised among the common people about the destructive effects of environmental pollution. Cutting down trees should be restricted. To prevent pollution, the government, as well as all the conscious people, should come forward to reduce all kinds of pollution.
Environmental pollution
Environmental pollution is the introduction of contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change. Pollution can take the form of any substance (solid, liquid, or gas) or energy (such as radioactivity, heat, sound, or light). Pollutants, the components of pollution, can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Although environmental pollution can be caused by natural events, the word pollution generally implies that the contaminants have an anthropogenic source – that is, a source created by human activities. Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution. In 2015, pollution killed nine million people worldwide. Major forms of pollution include air pollution, light pollution, litter, noise pollution, plastic pollution, soil contamination, radioactive contamination, thermal pollution, visual pollution, and water pollution. Air pollution is the contamination of air due to the presence of substances in the atmosphere that are harmful to the health of humans and other living beings, or cause damage to the climate or materials. Light pollution is the presence of unwanted, inappropriate, or excessive artificial lighting. In a descriptive sense, the term "light pollution" refers to the effects of any poorly implemented lighting, during the day or night. Noise pollution, also known as environmental noise or sound pollution, is the propagation of noise with ranging impacts on the activity of human or animal life, most of them harmful to a degree. Litter consists of waste products that have been discarded incorrectly, without consent, at an unsuitable location. Plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic objects and particles (e.g. plastic bottles, bags, and microbeads) in the Earth's environment that adversely affects humans, wildlife, and their habitat. Soil contamination, soil pollution, or land pollution as a part of land degradation is caused by the presence of xenobiotic (human-made) chemicals or other alterations in the natural soil environment. It is typically caused by industrial activity, agricultural chemicals, or improper disposal of waste. Radioactive contamination also called radiological pollution, is the deposition of, or presence of radioactive substances on surfaces or within solids, liquids, or gases (including the human body), where their presence is unintended or undesirable (to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) definition). Water pollution (or aquatic pollution) is the contamination of water bodies, usually as a result of human activities, so that it negatively affects its uses.
Or,
Our environment is affected day by day due to pollution. There are various types of pollution like water pollution, soil pollution, air pollution, land pollution, etc. Pollution is destroying nature. Some are man-made pollution while others are natural pollution. The smoke that is emitted from the chimneys of the factories, and vehicles are a mixture of poisonous gases. Due to environmental pollution, the worst sufferers are plants and animals. They are extinct every day. No flora and fauna are safe here. Some animals are already on the list of endangered species. Due to water pollution, Marine species are also dying. The temperature is increasing and global warming is also increasing. The only way to eradicate environmental pollution is to plant many trees. By planting trees, we can get rid of many harmful poisonous gases. If the earth becomes green again, then pollution can be reduced and we will breathe the fresh air.
Or,
The environment is very necessary to lead a healthy life. Our environment shapes a very important aspect of human life because that is where we find the requirements of life like air, water, and food. Due to global industrialization and modernization, there has been environmental pollution. Our lifestyle has also changed. The animals are on the verge of extinct day by day. The panda, the white tiger, and Albatross are now not to be seen. They are few only and if environmental pollution continues then we are going to lose our animals in a few decades. The harmful and toxic gases released 24×7 from the factories are mixing with air, thus causing air pollution. People dump all the waste materials in the river and sea, this way the water is also getting poisoned every day. Marine species like fish, whales, and dolphins are the worst sufferers. Their valuable lives are also lost. Soil erosion is one of the causes of soil pollution. We humans can save our Earth by planting trees. If we plant trees then once again our Earth will be green. We should not cut trees also, then it will make deforestation, and the top portion of the soil will be lost.
Father of the Nation: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

Tree Plantation.
Tree plantation means planting more trees in a planned way. It is very essential for our survival on earth. But we are cutting down trees recklessly and thereby endangering our own lives. The world's temperatures are getting warmer gradually. The plantation of trees is thus a crying need of the time. Other than the aforesaid issue, trees come to our help in many ways. Trees take carbon dioxide, give us oxygen and prevent air pollution. They also give us shelter, shade, food, fruits, etc. They help our environment in many ways. They prevent soil erosion. They make our land fertile. They save us from droughts, floods, cyclones, etc. They prevent our region from becoming a desert. Without sufficient trees, there will be less rainfall in the country. The climate will be hot. Different kinds of natural disasters will come. People will suffer from a shortage of food, shade, and oxygen. Birds and animals will lose their habitats. There will be no ecological balance. A country should have at least 25% forest land. But there are no sufficient forest lands in our country. So, necessary steps should be taken to have more trees. People should be conscious about planting more trees. The mass media like TV and radio can play a great role in this regard. To lead a peaceful life, we have to plant more trees. In our country, July and August are suitable times for planting trees. During that time we should plant more and more trees. If we do not plant more trees, our existence will be no longer in the world.
Or,
Tree plantation refers to planting trees at a large scale in a planned way. They give us shade and soothe our eyes with their green color. They give us various kinds of fruits. They provide us with firewood for cooking and timber for furniture, doors and windows, boats, electric poles, railway slippers, etc, and rubber too. Trees take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. Thus they maintain ecological balance. Sufficient trees cause sufficient rainfall and prevent drought. Trees along the roadside and coastal areas prevent erosion and tidal bore. Hence tree plantation is very important. If there is no tree, our country will turn into a desert. So tree plantation must be taken as a project. The more we plant trees, the more our environment will be balanced and greener. In Bangladesh, there is no alternative to tree plantation as we do not have enough forest to maintain the ecological balance. Therefore, we have to make people conscious of tree plantations and plant more and more trees.
Or,
Nowadays Tree Plantation' is a common term for all of us. We know that trees maintain the balance of our environment. But, at present, our environment is at stake because of the indiscriminate cutting of trees. So, we have no way other than tree plantation. The rainy season is the proper time for tree plantation. It is the time when the environment is the most suitable one for the rapid growth of trees. We should plant trees according to their suitability with the sole. There are many unused lands around us. We can plant saplings on these lands. Sea beaches, low-lying areas, roadsides, etc. can be brought under the scheme of tree plantation. We can easily engage landless people to look after the saplings and ensure their safe growth. It will benefit those landless people and protect our environment. The success of the tree plantation program requires a united effort. The Government, the NGOs, and the educated section of the society should work together in this regard. The job can be easily done by creating awareness among the general people. Individual attempts will never be successful in this regard. So, we all should work together. The importance of tree plantation cannot be described in words. The most important thing is that free keeps the environment balanced. Trees are the only source of food for all animals including human beings. They give shelter to wild animals and birds. They provide us with cloth, medicine, building materials, etc. Trees reduce the extent of soil erosion. They keep us away from an extreme climate. Above all, trees give us oxygen without which our existence on earth is quite impossible. Therefore, tree plantation is a must for us. The very existence of human beings on earth depends on trees. So, we need to undertake a massive tree plantation program. Everybody should come forward spontaneously to contribute to this noble campaign.
